mission hills norman course

l
Designer: Greg Norman
Established: 2004
Location: approx. 1 hr from Hong Kong to Mission Hills
Facilities: pro shop, range, bar, restaurant, locker rooms with towels
Greg Norman built a reputation designing challenging golf courses wrought in the traditional stylings of his native Australian sand belt. his 7,228-yard offering at Mission Hills follows suit, as narrow fairways surrounded by long, native grasses and dense forest vegetation contribute to the layout’s reputation as one of the most difficult courses in Asia. the front nine meanders through dramatic mountain ridges and hillsides, while the back nine lays gingerly in one of the property’s many lush valleys.

mission hills world cup course

l
Designer: Jack Nicklaus
Established: 1994
Location: approx. 1 hr from Hong Kong to Mission Hills
Facilities: pro shop, range, bar, restaurant, locker rooms with towels
named in honor of the 41st world cup of golf which it hosted in 1995, this critically acclaimed course was designed by 18-time major champion Jack Nicklaus. completed in 1994, it’s the first course in China to be accredited by the US PGA for major professional competitions, and many of the world’s greatest players – including Tiger Woods and Greg Norman – have played on it. winner of multiple international awards and heralded by the authoritative US golf publication LINKS as “one of the ten most significant and influential courses of the last 20 years”, Mission Hills’ world cup course is widely hailed as one of asia’s best golfing experiences.

mission hills faldo course

l
Designer: Nick Faldo
Established: 1999
Location: approx. 1 hr from Hong Kong to Mission Hills
Facilities: pro shop, range, bar, restaurant, locker rooms with towels
the Faldo course at Mission Hills is China’s first “stadium course” and features the region’s only island green at the par-3 16th. measuring nearly 7,000 yards from the back tees, it’s highlighted by mounding and earthen amphitheatres to improve the spectator experience. the 16th hole and drivable par-4 15th are two of Asia’s most exciting holes and have played significant roles in many tournament outcomes. it is home to the annual grand final for the premier junior golf circuit on the continent, the Faldo series Asia.

mission hills olazabal course

l
Designer: Jose Maria Olazabal
Established: 2004
Location: approx. 1 hr from Hong Kong to Mission Hills
Facilities: pro shop, bar, restaurant, locker rooms with towels
the venue of the 2007 and 2008 Omega Mission Hills World Cup, the 7,400-yard Olazabal Course is the longest at Mission Hills. the design philosophy behind this course is to create a beautiful, unique, harmonious and playable course for all golfers, reflecting Jose Maria Olazabal’s reputation as one of the game’s best sand savers.

the course is a majestic vista of the original flora and fauna, and streams of clear water crossing paths with the paspallum-covered fairways giving rise to a spectacular backdrop for a championship course. finger-shaped sand pits with deep bowl-bottoms and thick grassy vertical lips characterise the course.
